TICKETS & PRICES
Online, at the sales points Schifflände or at the Tourist Info at Barfüsserplatz.
Since a ship can only accommodate a limited number of passengers, we recommend that you book your ticket (including table reservation, if desired and available) in advance online. This way you can check directly if there are still seats available and secure your place in time.
On regular round trips (city and port cruise, lock cruise and evening cruise) tickets can usually also be purchased directly on board, provided there are still seats available.
Please note that when purchasing tickets on site on board, an additional fee may apply.
For culinary cruises and events with pre-sale, online ticket purchase in advance is required.
IMPORTANT: Without a valid ticket and on a fully booked cruise, boarding is unfortunately not possible.
No. You can also show your ticket (PDF) digitally on your smartphone.
A change or cancellation is generally not possible. Please note the respective conditions when purchasing tickets as well as our terms and conditions.
The ships depart on time. If you arrive late and miss the cruise, unfortunately, the ticket cannot be refunded.
Our cruises take place in all weather conditions. The ships have protected indoor areas. Please check the current operating situation for details.
For groups of 20 or more, we ask you to send your request via our contact form.
VOUCHERS
Online in the voucher shop, at the sales point Schifflände, at the Tourist Info of Basel Tourism at Barfüsserplatz or at Rheinfelden Tourism in the city office in Rheinfelden.
No, unfortunately, retroactive crediting of vouchers is not possible. Vouchers must be presented at the time of purchase or directly on board before payment. If the voucher was forgotten at home, the services must be paid for on site. The voucher can not be claimed retroactively.
Vouchers can be redeemed when purchasing tickets online or directly on board for consumption and tickets.
Valid vouchers with older prices will of course be accepted without extra charge. For expired vouchers (from 2019), the original voucher value will be credited to the current price, and the difference must be paid by the guest.
Older vouchers from old series (before 2019) must first be exchanged in our administration at Westquaistrasse 62 for an exchange fee of CHF 5 (trips up to 10 years, gastronomy up to 5 years). Please contact us with a photo of the voucher via [email protected].
ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION
Online, on the Rhine, at the sales point Charter Basel or at the Tourist Info of Basel Tourism at Barfüsserplatz.
Simply register your annual subscription online via our registration form.
The annual subscription is valid for 12 months from receipt or activation and is valid on all regular cruises (city and port cruise, lock cruise and evening cruise). For all other trips and events, the respective discount is indicated separately.
DISCOUNTS
Children in family accompaniment under 6 years travel for free while children in family accompaniment between 6 and 15 years only pay 5 CHF. The junior card and companion ticket for children are not valid.
There are no discounts for seniors.
School classes and youth groups (including accompanying persons) benefit from a 50% discount on the standard fare.
Discounts are not cumulative (e.g., school class in combination with the BaselCard).
Public transport subscriptions (GA, Half-fare, SBB day tickets, U-subscription, junior card, etc.) are not valid on our trips (since 2019) not valid.
With the BaselCard, you get a 25% discount on day trips. The BaselCard is not valid for evening trips.
With the BPG annual subscription, you travel for free on all scheduled round trips.
For extra trips, there is generally no discount, neither with public transport subscriptions nor with the BPG annual subscription, unless otherwise stated.
TRAVELING WITH DISABILITIES
The Rhystärn is barrier-free. The MS Christoph Merian is also barrier-free, except that access to the aft deck outside is only via a wide staircase from the lower or upper deck. The MS Baslerdybli is not barrier-free for structural reasons. Detailed information can be found here.
On the round trips, accompanying persons travel for free with the presentation of the official Swiss "Begleitabo Handicap" on the SwissPass.
GROUP TRAVELS
Youth/children's groups including accompanying persons (school classes, scout trips, gymnastics clubs, daycare, kindergarten, children's birthday parties, etc.) benefit from a 50% discount on the standard rate. For other groups (from 20 people) we offer special group experiences including gastronomy.
On the bus parking side of Basel Tourism, all bus parking spaces are listed.
At the three-country corner, mainly car parking spaces are available. There are two bus parking spaces, which are also used by the hotel ship coaches; we cannot estimate their occupancy.
If interested, we ask you to contact the Swiss Rhine ports directly, as they own the premises and we cannot allocate parking spaces.
GASTRONOMY
When booking tickets online, you can reserve a table. If you are a group of more than 9 people, please contact us via contact form for a table reservation.
On the city and port cruise, the onboard kiosk with snacks and drinks is open for self-service. On the Cruise and the evening cruise, we serve appetizers, drinks, and menus à la carte. The offer is linked to the respective cruise.
We kindly ask you not to consume any food and drinks brought from outside on board. By purchasing drinks and food from our onboard offerings, you support our gastronomy and help ensure that we can continue to provide you with beautiful experiences on the Rhine. Thank you for your understanding.
MISCELLANEOUS
In principle, dogs are allowed on board. However, there may be exceptions for culinary & event cruises as well as party cruises. Please check online in advance for the event/cruise.
You are welcome to bring your bike on board. There is space available at the front of the ship.
For security reasons, many banks today require an additional confirmation of card payment (3-D Secure). You confirm the payment briefly in your banking app, via SMS, or Face ID. Without this approval, the payment unfortunately cannot be completed and may be the reason why the payment is not working.
